A 4-way Tool Post has already been fabricated for use with the X-Y table in the ‘wood lathe setup’. It was made from 10x100mm flat bar, and the stack of 5 pieces took a fair amount of cutting, grinding and welding. The end result worked very well.

A far better arrangement is to have only 3 plates, laser-cut from 20mm and 12mm plate.

The Tool Post can be directly mounted onto the Cross Slide using the tee slots or mounted to the Compound Slide.
